THE ONE THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN

The Bathurst 1000 is the great race of Australian motorsport, and the V8 SCOPS Premier Series Bathurst 1000 is Sim Racing’s equivalent. We had an awesome race for the majority of the day out front (and a troublesome one for our others!), with the #12 of Cooper Webster and Jordan Caruso leading 99 laps of the race. Ultimately a strategic error from our side led us to finish well down on where we could have finished in the end, but that’s how it is sometimes when you roll the dice.

We had some really notable performances of course from the #12 car who did an awesome job all day, and the #83 car of Ryan Wood and Simon “L8AP3X” Feigl who started 52nd and climbed up into 9th position despite a massive 56 second stop and hold early in the race from a pitstop error.

Our oval racers Matt Danson and Christian Pedersen were absolutely stoked to come home in 13th place in their first ever V8 SCOPS Bathurst 1000 – Congrats to them!

The mountain bit hard for our #024 and #088 cars that unfortunately could not finish the race, however both ran very strongly during the race before their incidents.

Lastly, congratulations to Madison Down and Josh Anderson from Trans Tasman Racing on claiming the great race! We’ll be back next year to do it all again I’m sure!

Let’s go!

IT DOESN’T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THAT!

What a night! V8 SCOPS Premier Series at Road Atlanta was our most complete team performance in our history.

2 Races
2 Pole Positions
2 Wins for Cooper Webster
5 out of 6 Podiums
1 Round Win

In Race 1 we got off to a flyer with a commanding qualifying performance, with Cooper Webster getting Pole Position by 0.2sec from James Scott, a further 0.1sec clear of the field. Cooper had a poor getaway however was able to climb back to James and put the winning move a few laps from the finish to lead home an Altus 1-2.

Race 2 saw the return of Jordan Caruso, who was unavailable for Race 1 with real world driver training duties at Phillip Island. However with just a few laps warmup, was able to slot the #12 into 3rd on the grid behind James who took Pole Position ahead of Cooper. It was the second case of bad starts for the man on pole, with James dropping back early before reclaiming 3rd place. Cooper comfortably led home a historic 1-2-3 and the first ever Altus podium lockout.

This is just reward for all the excellent work from the team, with a lot of hype and activity behind the scenes contributing to the on track performances that have seen 3 round wins out of 5 so far.

Let’s get onto the next one!
