BACK TO BACK ALTUS ENDURANCE CUP VICTORIES!

The second race of the V8 SCOPS Premier Series Endurance Cup would take place at the traditional Phillip Island circuit. Having taken victory at the first race in the hands of James Scott and Sam Blacklock, they looked strong once again taking a second successive pole position.

Blacklock had a tremendous launch and began the race strongly, however teammate Cooper Webster made up the ground and was able to make the pass mid way through the opening stint to take the lead for the first time. Simon Feigl too had made a move up to P7 however had an awkward tangle to drop off the circuit at Siberia losing valuable time.

Altus & V8 SCOPS debutant Ryan Wood took over the #83 from Feigl during the second safety car phase, however now sitting in P31 had lots of work to be done. The Scott/Blacklock car was tagged and turned around at Honda, dropping them to the back and with a damaged #088. They would struggle to recover and come home in P14.

With Webster and Jordan Caruso in the effective lead on fuel strategy, there was a breath taking battle with Synergy Sim Racing‘s Jackson Souslin Harlow and Caruso, with JSH able to hold onto the lead for the time being before Caruso undercut the #143 to break free to clear air. Caruso would lead home a first ever Endurance Cup victory for Webster and Caruso.

It was a similar story with Wood, who did two undercutting pit stops in a row relative to their competitors to vault up the order to P5 with the final stint to go, and were able to pass on the track the TTR and United SSR cars to sit in the podium place before managing a fuel deficit to bring the #83 home in third place.

It was a tough race for Hanlin and Danson in the end, however Danson accumulated valuable V8 miles ahead of the great race next up!

Overall it was an excellent race for the team, with a double podium finish for the second successive race, and a starring display from debutant Ryan Wood to take a podium in his first V8 SCOPS race.

Next up… the Bathurst 1000 in a few weeks!

PORSCHE P3 FOR COOPER & A CARUSO RECOVERY

Porsche Esports Supercup Qualifying Series entered its penultimate round, this time at Long Beach. It was always going to be a tricky one with the walls being close and every chance of it going horribly wrong.

Cooper did an excellent job escaping much of the opening action, with Jordan starting a bit further back but also having a smooth run through Lap 1. However whilst things then stablised for Cooper, Jordan’s race was going to get tougher. He was a victim of a competitor’s attempt into Turn 1 which put them both in the wall, however fortunately he was able to rejoin and come back through to a P12 finish. Jordan now sits P9 in the series standings.

Cooper had the blowtorch on the R8G car, whilst fending an Apex car behind, however on this notoriously difficult track to pass, P3 was solid points and would put him P3 in the qualifying championship with one round to go.

Only the Top 15 go through to the Contender series, and so far so good! Let’s bring it home at Nürburgring this weekend!

ALBERT GETS A THIRD PODIUM IN IRX SEASON FINALE!

For the seventh and final time, the Rallycross World Championship Qualifier Series hit the track, and the Altus Subaru’s hit the ground running with a double Top-5 in Qualifying.

Third and Fourth in the Heat Races would put both drivers in the Consolation race, but they dealt with it perfectly with Beau leading home a dominant Altus 1-2.

An aggressive Feature would force both drivers to get their elbows out, with Luis sliding up into Third early on until a costly error sent him rolling out of contention. Fortunately, Albert was able to recover from a bruising opening lap to drive through the field and collect a fourth podium for the team in seven events.

Beau would round out the season Sixth in points, whilst Luis Nunez would finish Fourteenth but crucially, both well ahead of the cut-off to the World Championship.

Round 1 of the World Championship takes place at the Daytona International Speedway!

FOUR TOP TENS IN ENASCAR ROAD TO PRO RACE 4!

Round 2 of the eNASCAR Road to Pro Qualifying Series made its way to the Rockingham Speedway for Race 4 of the series. We had a mixed qualifying result with Cosey and Jordy running P5 and P7, with Merch and CP in 21st and 24th respectively.

The race track was formidable however. Cosey and Jordy steadily moved into the top few positions before Cosey was bumped slightly and narrowly escaped a massive wreck with a huge save. Jordy was able to come home P3, while Merch and CP made huge moves in the race to gain 17 and 16 positions each, while Cosey recovered to a P6 finish. Huge effort from everyone!

We’ve now surpassed the halfway mark of the series, with all four Altus drivers running inside the Top 20 to qualify for the next round, with or without the drop round.
3 rounds left – let’s go!

KIWI RYAN WOOD JOINS ALTUS

We’ve known Ryan for a fair while, being extremely quick in our Just Send It series regardless of whatever challenge was thrown at him. With a drive to pursue sim racing alongside his real world career, we wasted little time in signing this talented 17 year old racer.

Ryan has been racing in the Best Bars Toyota 86 Series in New Zealand, finishing 3rd in the championship and learning a lot along the way. Ryan’s also scheduled to compete in the 2021 South Island Endurance Series in a Porsche 991 Gen 1 Cup Car, which we all hope escapes the latest outbreaks and can run as scheduled.

Watch out for Ryan in the upcoming V8 SCOPS Premier Series rounds, along with other road racing categories and special events.

BLACKLOCK QUALIFIES FOR SUPERCARS PRO ESERIES WITH SWYFTX

With James Scott (BP) and Cooper Webster (Team 18) already announced, this time it is Sam Blacklock who is announced as a driver in the Cash Converters Supercars Pro Eseries.

Sam had to go the hard yards qualifying via the draft and finishing fifth in the standings despite a blown engine in the final race. Swyftx saw what they needed to see, and selected Sam for his second successive Eseries. In the Bathurst Enduro, he’ll be racing with Jayden Ojeda which will be a strong pairing.

Congratulations Sam!

ALBERT & NÚÑEZ LOCK IN THEIR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TICKET

The penultimate week of the iRX Qualifier Series has wrapped up at Sonoma, and although it would be a bruising affair for both Beau and Luis, they would most importantly leave this week with enough of a gap to the cut-off, to qualify for the 2021 World Championship.

For Beau, this will be his third year in World Championship competition following on from the VRS GT World Championship in 2018, and the Rallycross World Championship last year.

But for Luis, this is his first attempt at qualifying for; and making it into the World Championship and we couldn’t be more excited to see how he gets on in his debut year!

The final round of the Qualifier Series goes to Charlotte Motor Speedway, let’s give it our best shot to end the series on a high!
