Team Update

We’d like to let all of our followers know that we have had some changes within the team. We can advise that as of this evening, the following team members are no longer part of Altus Esports.

  • Dayne Warren
  • Ethan Warren
  • Jackson Souslin Harlow
  • Alexander Lauritzen
  • Lasse Sørensen

These types of announcements are never easy, and each individual is for their own reason and not just one. We will not go into specifics, however what this has reinforced through a number of team discussions these past few days on the importance of commitment to the team and mate ship.

It brings us back to who we are and we began as when the team started almost two years ago, where those values were at the forefront of our minds. A small team committed to one another to achieve our goals together, and that is what we did.

We are very excited to move forward with the team that we have, and despite the change in roster the team has responded very well with renewed motivation, including our newest member we will be revealing soon.

We do wish each and every one of those we are saying farewell to all the best wherever they may land, and we look forward to some good races in future. We may no longer be teammates, but we remain as good friends.

– Simon Feigl (Team Manager)

Altus Discord Community Hub Open!

We’ve been advocates of Discord for some time, and it’s a key tool that we use to plan, organise and communicate within the team and our partners. We felt it would be great to incorporate others into we are calling our Community Hub.

You’ll be able to engage directly with us on a platform that we as a team use most. It’ll also form the hub of some of our existing initiatives such as Just Send It, and also future initiatives coming soon, as well general banter, Sim Racing Q&A, motorsport discussions and join us in other gaming we like to do for fun such as Call of Duty, CSGO, etc.

To join, be sure to follow this link and be part of what we believe will be a fun and exciting place to hang out.

Sørensen P2 in Le Mans 24 Hour Virtual

Representing Aston Martin Racing for this race, our own Lasse Sørensen teamed up with good friend Nicki Thiim, Richard Westbrook & Manuel Biancolilla. Lasse did a fantastic job putting the Aston Martin in P5 on the grid in qualifying and the top placed non-Porsche who dominated the first half dozen cars.

Nicki started the race strongly, able to pick up positions and move into P3 relatively early on, and the team were strong throughout the long journey. Unfortunately for the event there were two red flags due to technical difficulties in RFactor 2, however despite this the AMR #95 was able to stay strong throughout the race and bank a fantastic 2nd Place finish in GTE class behind the Porsche Esports Team.

Awesome job Lasse, and well done Aston Martin Racing!

Webster set for S5000 Evaluation Day

Fresh off the back of Cooper Webster’s victory in the ARG Esports Cup at Bathurst, the S5000 category run by ARG have announced that Cooper along with Nathan Herne have earned a S5000 Evaluation Day at Phillip Island to be run by Garry Rogers Motorsport. The Evaluation Day is set for this Friday, and is a fantastic opportunity for Cooper who is also an established karter and junior category car racer, to experience a thoroughbred race car under the guidance of James Golding.

To add this to Cooper’s overall win in the Erebus Academy JR Esports event where he earned a Test Day at Norwell Motorplex, it has been a great month for him, and he is thoroughly deserving of it.

Enjoy Cooper – show them what you can do! 🤙

Josh takes maiden win at Bathurst IRL!

Right now we couldn’t be prouder. Josh Anderson has taken a break from the Porsche Esports Supercup qualifiers to contest Round 1 of the Aussie Racing Cars series, at the Bathurst 12 Hour.

In the reverse grid Race 3 of the weekend and coming off an 8th place and 2nd place finish, he would come through the field to take the lead, and then build a big margin for his first ever race win, setting the fastest lap in the process.

Absolutely stoked Ando! Looking forward to Race 4!

Race 4 Relief Awareness

As an Australian managed team with a number of drivers from Australia also, the bushfires have been absolutely devastating to our country, with an enormous 12.35 million acres being burnt already with the devastation continuing to grow. To put this into perspective, England’s land area is 13 million hectares in size.

More than 20 lives have been lost, millions of animals have also lost their lives, thousands of homes destroyed and mass evacuations for many Australian towns often leaving people stranded with limited belongings.

The response from the public has been excellent, and the word is being spread across the world. We spoke as a team about what we could possibly do to help beyond our own donations of supplies and money, and the Australian Red Cross slogan of “The power of humanity” gave us our answer.

We decided that we would utilise racing to spread the word through Esports in next weekend’s iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona, and provide some legitimate options for viewers to donate to those affected. We are also paying tribute to those affected by running a special edition Australia-inspired Green and Gold livery on all of our cars for the race, and also stream the race in its entirety from the inner sanctum of Altus Esports. We will also be creating and sharing Race 4 Relief windshield banners for each of the 7 car types, so that others also racing in the race can spread the word and show their support.

We will have more details on the stream and banner download links in the coming days. In the meantime if you would like to donate, we recommend the following options. Any donation big or small would be greatly appreciated and help to make a difference.

We look forward to you joining us, and entertaining you all next weekend in what is a big race for us, as we attempt to defend our Double Class Victory (GTE & GT3) from 2019. We will race the green and gold with pride, and hope you too can give hope to those Australians in need.

Weekend Success IRL for our racers

While we are often taking the competitive fight to the virtual world on the Simulator, a few of us are also racing in the real world.

This weekend saw Josh Anderson Racing have another strong weekend in the Aussie Racing Cars series, locking up 3rd in Championship at the season finale at Newcastle amongst a packed Supercars audience. It was a fantastic season for Josh, where he was consistently fighting at the front.

Furthermore, Jackson Souslin Harlow became the 2019 Tasmanian State Champion at the weekend, further showcasing his skill in Karting!

Congrats fellas!

An Altus Driver from Birth!

Simone Maria Marcenò was an Altus driver before he even knew it, wearing his White, Orange, Yellow and Blue karting overalls more than 10 years ago.

We have a late last minute guest driver planned for this weekend’s Petit le Mans at Road Atlanta, after one of our regular drivers fell ill during the week. The work ethic of this young Marcenò was the same advice passed on today.

“God bless you in this mission guys”

Happy Birthday Altus – 1 Year Today!

undefined

What an amazing journey this past year has been. We launched Altus on June 30th 2018 with our six members who have been here from the start. We then expanded into Europe to tackle some of the world’s biggest series and events, and in 2019 we spawned our on V8 squad and GT Sport squad. When it all began we felt confident in our structure and what we felt was the right way to go about racing, but ever we didn’t expect the success we’ve had in our first year with our key highlights being:

1 x World Championship (2018 Sprint Car World Champion – Tim Ryan)

2 x Series Championships (NEO Endurance & V8 Supercars Official Season)

2 x iRacing Special Event Class Wins (Daytona 24 Hour in GTE & GT3)

4 x Special Event Podiums & 2 x Top 5 Results in Special Events

Competed on location internationally with 5 drivers in 3 major events

It’s been a wild ride, and we want to thank all of our sponsors and fans! We’ve worked with Chazlington to put together a celebration video of our first year in racing. We hope you enjoy it!
