NÚÑEZ STEALS ANOTHER TOP 5!

Round Five of the iRX World Championship Qualifying Series took our drivers to the car-breaking Phoenix Raceway. Luis showed strong pace with third in Qualifying but would be left fighting back after a tricky start in his Heat.

Luis would recover strongly in the Final, taking a fourth Top-5 finish for the Season, and score great points to move him up the points table. Beau would have a trickier event after a difficult qualifying session left him in the mid-pack chaos.

Beau would make a great getaway in the Final, and made a pass for Third on-track, only to get spun around by the other driver on the corner exit, dumping him to last place. However, did pickup the Fastest Lap for the second event in succession in his recovery effort.

With just Two Rounds left, both Beau and Luis remain comfortably above the Qualification Cut-Off, and can lock themselves into the World Championship next time out at Sonoma!

SCOTT & BLACKLOCK WIN IMOLA 500!

After a fantastic shootout lap, James would start the race from Pole Position. Sam ran a tremendous opening double stint before handing the reins back to James to complete the job. It was a closely fought battle with fellow Altus car piloted by Jordan Caruso and Cooper Webster, running 1-2 for a lot of the race, along with the Synergy Sim Racing #143 entry of Souslin-Harlow and Ross. In the end though, the #088 of Scott and Blacklock would prevail to claim their second ever win in V8 SCOPS, ahead of the SSR #143 with Jordan and Cooper rounding out the podium!

It was also a good showing for our Enduro Cup entries of Zachary Hanlin and Beau Albert, and Oval ace Matt Danson and Team Manager Simon Feigl. Both featured inside the top 10 at various stages of the race, however both would finish outside the top 10.

Nevertheless, it was a fantastic result for the team and a great start of the Enduro Cup!

P1 James Scott / Sam Blacklock
P3 Jordan Caruso / Cooper Webster
P12 Zachary Hanlin / Beau Albert
P18 Matt Danson / Simon Feigl

JORDY GETS 2ND PLACE ONCE AGAIN!

Jordy now moves up in the standings to 4th overall, with Merch and Cosey matching their race result sitting 11th and 12th in the standings and CP in 19th place without counting the drop round. All inside the qualification zone so far!

In two weeks time the series moves back to the ovals at Rockingham Speedway to reach the mid point of the season.

COOPER GOES P5 AGAIN IN PESC QUALIFYING

It was another strong race for Cooper Webster in PESC Qualifying, backing up 5th place with another 5th place result at Barcelona.

For Jordan Caruso the bad luck continued with an unfortunate netcode contact from behind tipping him into a spin. He was able to recover as best he could to 19th, but the hopes of a good points haul were lost.

Next week it is the Red Bull Ring… that ought to be exciting!

BOBO GOES 3RD AT HELL

It’s another podium for Altus in the iRX Qualifying Series, with Beau Albert coming home in third this time in the VW Beetle, taking a heat victory in the process. It was a tough round for Luis

Núñez, getting turned early in the feature on only able to salvage 9th in the end.

After 4 rounds, Beau sits 6th, and Luis sits 11th in the standings and well within the qualification zone with just three rounds to go!

CARUSO PICKS UP FOURTH WIN OF THE V8SCOPS SEASON!

After another strong qualifying with all three cars lined up from P2-P4, another strong race was on the cards. Belle Isle is one of those circuits where the chance of a safety car or two is high, and through much of the race we’d been able to manage this well.

All three drivers were running inside the Top 8 before a crazy sequence events saw Cooper put into the fence hard and out of it, with James unfortunately hitting the stricken #37 and blowing his engine. Two cars out in the space of seconds. Jordan was fortunate enough to be free of the melee, and on the final safety car restart was able to drive away from the field and win the race by just under 10 seconds.

It’s another win in V8 SCOPS, but also one that could have been so much more too. Nevertheless this signals the last single driver round for a while, with the V8 SCOPS Enduro Cup up next. Our attention on that will be lower than it has been however due to other racing priorities however we will race as hard as we can where possible to do so!

GG Jordan – too good!

LOPEZ GOES P2 IN ROAD TO PRO RACE 2!

The iRacing eNASCAR Road to Pro Qualifying Round 2 is in full flight, with Race 2 of the series taking place at Homestead in Florida. The palm trees clearly agree with Jordy Lopez, as he is a former winner at the circuit, and almost did it again running a close P2 behind eventual winner Briar LaPradd, despite only starting in 24th place! Christian Pedersen also made a solid move up from P22 to P10 in the snake Split 1 race.

In the snake Split 2 race, the fortunes faired a little different. Merch and Cosey had a good run in qualifying, however would drop back during the race to ultimately finish P10 and P12 respectively.

Nevertheless, another great round by our quartet of drivers, all sitting inside the qualification zone and placed as follows:

8th – Jordy Lopez
11th – Seth DeMerchant
13th – Christian Pedersen
14th – Michael Cosey Jr

Race 3 moves to famed road course Watkins Glen where we’re blending both our road racing and NASCAR experience to put together our best chance of a good result. We can not wait to hit the track!

VRS SCO 24 HOURS OF SPA – DONE

The Virtual Racing School SCO 24 Hours of Spa was raced yesterday, with our Audi and Lamborghini teams racing. As is always the case with 24 hour races, it is always a challenge in itself to make the finish safely. It may be a surprise to some also, but this was our team’s first ever Spa 24 Hour race as well too!

It was a tough race though with such depth in the field. Our drivers fought valiantly in their cars which were missing a little bit relative to some of the others. Nevertheless they all drove smartly to bring each car home without even a scratch, and were the 2nd best teams in the same machinery, finishing in 10th and 11th at the race’s end.

Plenty of rest and recovery, and a bit of homework from our side to further improve for next time, however we are pretty content with this result in what was such a strong field. SCO Masters returns in a couple of weeks where the busy schedule only gets busier!

Congratulations to the podium finishers from Team Redline and MSI eSports.

MIXED BAG IN PESC QUAL OPENER

The Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup Qualifying Series kicked off at the weekend at the Hockenheim circuit. With only a small amount of spots available in the qualifying series before moving to the second stage, and only a single timeslot to record a result, the process is more difficult than ever.

Cooper Webster got his campaign off to a very strong start, climbing the field from 13th to a 5th placed finish in the 7.8K SOF, netting himself a handy 362 points.

For Jordan Caruso it was P8 grid slot but the race was all over just three corners into the race after a car in front spun under traction leaving him with nowhere to go, and the following pack failing to slow and avoid a major wreck.

Onto the next round this coming weekend at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Let’s go fellas!

NÚÑEZ BOUNCES BACK TO PODIUM FINISH

Entering the 3rd round of the iRX World Championship Qualifying Series, Luis Núñez was sitting 10th in the standings having had some unlucky feature runs. Brands Hatch seemed to be going worse, with bad runs in both the heat race and the consolation race leaving him second last on the grid for the feature. Three corners later… he moved from 9th to 2nd driving ‘through the smoke’ of what was a very big crash. He drove solidly to come home in 3rd place, and a welcome first podium finish.

Beau had a stronger round than he had expected, winning his heat race and starting on pole for the feature. However he would get caught up in the major crash, dropping him well back to almost last place. A spirited drive through the pack would see him fight back to 4th place, and another good points haul.

Beau and Luis are now 6th and 7th in the series, and well ahead of the qualifying cut line
