PESC R7: Elation For Some, Deflation For Others

PESC R7: Elation For Some, Deflation For Others

Round seven of the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup brings us to the rolling hills of Circuit du Spa Francorchamps in what would undoubtedly be a chaotic race for all thirty drivers.

Qualifying

Looking to consolidate his championship lead, Jordan was hopeful of a strong showing, along with Oscar and Simone who both wanted to build on momentum after last time out. The drivers headed into qualifying with a mixed opinion on fortunes but gave it their all regardless.

Jordan laid down what seemed like a great lap but in the end it would only result in 8th, but a handy spot for the reverse in the feature. Simone put himself just outside the top twenty to go 22nd and Oscar not far behind in 25th. This being where the entire field was separated by only 0.45 seconds!

Sprint

The sprint got underway just after, and it was Jordan once again playing it safe to get some points and positions if possible. He would finish 6th after six laps, aiming to be on the front row for the feature. Simone gained four spots on what was a tough track to pass on and claim 18th. Oscar while making a move on lap one was taken out by another car, taking out several drivers in the calamity just after Les Combes.

Feature

Lights out for the feature, and Jordan quickly sent it on main title rival Sebastian Job to get the lead and sit tightly for the oncoming twelve laps. Things were quite the opposite though for Simone who wouldn’t even reach turn two before being sideswiped into the wall by another driver, ending his race almost before it began. Oscar in the chaos managed to climb almost 10 positions and would sit in 19th by the end of the opening lap. This would prove literally pointless however as he was tagged by Diogo Pinto when traversing a pileup in turn one on lap 4, also ending his race. With two out of three retiring, it was down to Jordan to make it count. Cool as a cucumber he lead all twelve laps and held off Job on the final lap when the Briton went for a move on the outside of turn four. This would give him his first feature win of the series and comfortably extend his points lead with only three rounds to go!

With motivation taking some knocks for some, regardless, the team presses on for what may be the biggest challenge yet: Nurburgring. All 25km of the GP and infamous Nordschliefe combined for a gruelling onslaught of undulations and jumps. Be sure to keep up with the team on socials and tune into the broadcast on May 6th!

Debut Pole & Podium for Caruso in PESC

A fantastic run for Jordan Caruso getting his first ever Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup Pole Position and Podium finish. He’s now 2nd in the points after Round 1 – a great start! 👊

There was some tough racing in the midfield that led to mixed results for Oscar & Simone. Great signs to open the season though.

Caruso off to Daytona to contest Pro Sim Championship!

The 2023 Pro Sim Racing Sprint Championship Series by VRS and Coliseum Media was our last road racing series before Christmas. Jordan Caruso made the most of it by finishing the online component 2nd place in points, thus earning him a trip to Daytona Speedway to contest the final on the same weekend as the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January!

It’s going to be a big challenge and his second international esports trip inside of a year. We couldn’t be prouder!

eNASCAR Contender: Winner Winner Tucker Minter!

He gets his first win in the eNASCAR Contender iRacing Series, and with that has enough points to finish inside the top 21 to be considered for the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series.

Full Altus Results from the latest round of the eNASCAR Contender iRacing Series with four cars in the Top 10 and of course the win! Very timely results for Ryan and Cosey who both have a chance of getting through heading into the final round next week.

Absolute heartbreak for Seth DeMerchant though who was running Top 5 till late in the race.

IMSA: A sad end to Tough Season

That didn’t end the way we wanted it to. Our #43 was left with nowhere to go when an out of control TCR swept down the banking resulting in a monumental smash and a DNF. 😒

For the #83 McLaren it was a solid run to extract the most that was possible out of the car. By virtue of the P13, they secured top honours for the manufacturer in the championship which is as much as we could have hoped for.
