We’re very proud and excited to announce a new partnership with a true New Zealand success story, with renowned Motorsport brand Racetech.

Racetech have been synonymous in Motorsport being the racing seat of choice in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, with their composite and carbon fibre race seats fitting to thousands of race cars, touring cars, rally cars, drift, drag and speedway cars all over the world. They have no partnered with Altus Esports in a new adventure into the world of Esports.

Racetech have developed a fantastic new Simulator which has no flex, is rigid and highly adjustable! The New Zealand made racing simulator chassis and accessories are designed and manufactured with precision to provide you with the highest standard of equipment that is going to last.

We have made the chassis and accessories easy to assemble and compatible with the very popular Logitech G29, G920 and Thrustmaster T300 steering wheel and pedal sets. You can pair your simulator with one of our professional race seats to give you the most authentic racing experience. Also available are direct driver wheel mounts for the simulator, so you can take your racing to the highest levels of force with Racetech.

Altus Esports’ New Zealand driver Matthew McEwen has tested the simulator and will be racing it from this week, and was quoted as saying “I recently got to use Racetech’s simulator chassis and it was amazing. Adjustable, rock solid (you could stand on any part and it didn’t even flex) and with a decent racing seat to cap it off. I think it is a great option for anyone looking to get started on simulator racing with a rig they’ll never need to replace.”

At Altus we are extremely honoured to represent this fantastic brand that is renowned for producing industry leading products, and with the time that we spend in the seat it is great to know we are in safe hands with Racetech.

As a celebration of the launch, a special wildcard entry will be racing in this weekend’s V8 SCOPS Bathurst 1000 on iRacing, with Rallycross ace Beau Albert joining Italian Simone Maria Marcenò in the Racetech Holden Commodore.

Supercars All Star Eseries comes to a close

The last ten weeks since COVID-19 hit the motorsport world, it’s given an opportunity to really dive into Esports, and a number of our team members were fortunate enough to work with the Walkinshaw Andretti United team for the Supercars All-Star Eseries, in conjunction with WAU Simulation Partner Motum Simulation.

Sam Blacklock – Race Engineer for Chaz Mostert

Simon Feigl – Race Engineer for Bryce Fullwood

Dayne Warren – Race Engineer for Alexander Rossi & Lando Norris

Zachary Hanlin – Race Engineer for Zak Brown

Each week we would run through all aspects of the race preparation including coaching & strategy, and assist in tuning the Motum equipment to maximize its performance and comfort for the drivers. Both Chaz and Bryce were newcomers to Sim Racing but adapted brilliantly, and showed off their skill and determination to finish a bunch of wins and podiums for Chaz to finish 5th, and Bryce just outside the top 10 at the season’s end. The whole WAU crew were brilliant to work with, and it was an absolute pleasure having them with us for this journey into Esports.

Many thanks to Mat, Bruce & Ryan, Carl & Adam, AJ, and the rest of the WAU crew that we enjoyed some great nights racing with. We can’t wait to see the #25 and #2 fly around Sydney Motorsport Park in a couple of week’s time.

Cube Controls Extend Partnership

We’re very excited to announce that we have extended what has already been a fantastic partnership with Cube Controls. All of the Cube Controls team have been excellent to work with across the course of the past 12 months, and we were thrilled to meet them in person at last year’s ADAC SimRacing Expo in Germany, and to understand their product roadmap and plans moving forward.

The quality of workmanship is second to none, with a number of our drivers currently racing their flagship CSX 2 Racing Wheel, and our team are involved with the beta testing of the UGT software for Cube Controls wheels also, to further the product development for Pro Racing.

We look forward once again to representing this prestigious brand once again in 2020 and beyond.

6H of SimRacing race with Nestor Girolami as a guest

A unique event will be taking place this weekend, the Race Clutch 6Hrs of Simracing. We were honoured to receive two invites to the event, however have only accepted one due to other scheduled events.

The 6Hrs of Simracing is unique in that it is a fixed setup multi-class race taking place at the Circuit De La Sarthe at Le Mans, with three-man teams taking part in the event comprising of 2 x Sim Racers, and 1 x Real World driver. For this event, we’ve enlisted the support of Argentinian FIA WTCR Star & Cube Controls Ambassador, Nestor “Bebu” Girolami.

Bebu met Team Manager Simon in October 2019, when contesting the TCR Australia race at Sandown Raceway where he would dominate the weekend, winning a clean sweep of races! We had intended on racing together at some point in the future, and it is great that this event has come about.

It is shaping up to be a fantastic race, with many real world drivers currently racing in a variety of categories including Supercars, FIA WEC, FIA WTCR, ABB Formula E, FIA Formula 2 and many more!

The Chiefs Partner with Altus

undefined

We’re very excited to announce a new partnership with Esports powerhouse The Chiefs Esports Club.

Founded in 1994 as the top League of Legends team in Australia, The Chiefs have since expanded their team to compete at the highest levels of competition in PUBG, CounterStrike: Global Offensive, Rocket League & Fortnite. In June The Chiefs was acquired by ICON Esports to forge Australia’s Leading Esports and Gaming Organisation, and is constantly pushing the boundaries by representing the Oceanic region in World Championships, World Cups and other major events.

For Altus Esports, the accolades are similar but in a very dynamic and emerging market in Racing Esports. Major events have been won, and we’ve competed at the very highest level of racing in both iRacing and Gran Turismo.

Having worked alongside each other at PAX and other events dating back to 2015 with team sponsors Logitech G, team manager Simon Feigl added that the new partnership was a natural progression, and one that both teams almost thought of at the same time.

“We felt a great synergy between the organisations, despite our relative difference in maturity within the Esports & Gaming scene. There is a lot that we can learn from The Chiefs, and a lot that we can do to broaden the exposure to each other’s audience.”

The operational structure of each team will remain independent, however blending our strengths and learnings of how we compete and engage with our audiences, it will be a great asset for each organisation.

“From a racing perspective, we feel the time is right to really move the needle forward as far as Racing Esports is concerned, and we’re excited to engage with The Chiefs in this new partnership, as they too are racing fans and love the unique features of racing as an Esport” Feigl added.

One area we are both passionate about is transitioning the greater majority of casual racers and gamers along toward the esports path as competitors or supporters.

Chief Marketing Officer at The Chiefs Josh Harvey explained “Grassroots I think in most contexts represents ‘casual gamers’, and that is where the focus needs to be. There are many ways to provide logical competitive pathways for those that are single-player gamers, and actually give them a competitive taste.”

The new partnership will see Altus Esports and The Chiefs partnering in several activations across Australia in 2020, taking the story of gaming and competitive esports to new audiences along with our supporting partners.

It’s a very exciting time, and a new way of engaging with the community and further enhancing our respective organisations. Be sure to stay tuned for more Altus & The Chiefs collaboration.
