In what has been an interesting few weeks Cooper Webster moved onto the driver market at the weekend which may be a surprise to many. Cooper had been a stalwart at ERT for a few years, and a driver on the rise since a very young age. With shared ambitions to perform at the highest levels of road racing Esports, we were delighted to unite and for Cooper to call Altus Esports his new team.

With the Porsche Esports Calendar on iRacing well underway having completed two of the ten rounds of Esports Supercup and Esports Sprint Challenge, the time to push is now. Cooper did not contest Round 1 of the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge, however qualified and finished in 2nd place on his series debut in Round 2, and currently sits 8th in the championship. Round 3 kicks off this weekend at Donington Park, and Cooper has settled in well with the team already in preparation for this weekend’s assault.

New signing James Scott took a Lime Rock Park Double Victory claiming Friday’s Australian Online Supercar Championship round and the Monday Night Official Supercars SOF race. That’s a nice way to start the account!

Tim Ryan has capped off a fantastic World Series Sprintcars Eseries by claiming the overall championship despite a late race collision that dropped him well down in the standings come the chequered flag.

Having won the opening two rounds in dominant style, Tim looked to be going 3 from 3 having opened up a mammoth 5 second lead before a late safety car would cause a late race drama. At the restart he wasn’t able to get away enough to adopt the fastest possible line having to defend sliders from Jock Goodyer, with the pair unfortunately tangling wheels just a few laps from the finish, with both dropping down the order.

With a damaged car and no time to respond, this looked like it could cost the championship however with calculators being put to feverish use, we were relieved to see that the two earlier round wins were enough anyway to offset the poor final result, and Ryno would walk away with the Championship Title, the very first for World Series Sprintcars in Esports.

Having also recently winning the Speedway Sedans Australia National Modified Sedan Esports Championship as well in early April, it has been a phenomenal two months for the 2018 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series World Champion.

Dayne Warren put together an exceptionally measured performance at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. He qualified P4 and would start the Sprint Race from P5 on the grid, moving up to P4 early before a slight error on lap one dropping him back to P5. He had the pace to go faster, however with championship rivals caught up in other incidents, would opt for a measured drive know that more was to play for.

The feature race got off to a good start, however was lucky to only have a glancing blow with a spinning Ostgaard, to move up to stay in P5. A good pass up into P4 and was caught up to Setsaas but didn’t have the pace advantage without risking a lot, so brought home a P4 finish to round out the evening.

Qualified 4th, Sprint Race 5th, Feature Race 4th. SOLID! 👏

Tuomas Tähtelä’s round would be influenced by just how close the field is in qualifying. Despite being only 0.241 behind Dayne’s qualifying time, Tuomas would start from P28 on the grid. Brutal!

Tuomas did an excellent job navigating through the incidents, however wasn’t completely unscathed as the mid pack had a number of calamitous moments. Tuomas would finish the sprint in P25, and P13 in the feature race with a great run.

Dayne Warren threw down the gauntlet after putting together a perfect race meeting in V8 SCOPS Premier Series, taking a double victory in the the two-race format.

Dayne was the leader in Pre-Qualifying, and in the race day qualifying session he was able to put his Holden Commodore into Pole Position for both races setting a blistering pace. For Dayne the races were very straight forward in the end, able to pull out a gap steadily in both races leading flag-to-flag victories in both races, claiming a 6 second victory in Race 1, and an 8 second victory in Race 2. A completely dominant week of Supercars racing. 💪

For championship leader James Scott he would have an excellent debut in the team, fitting in nicely and establishing an early grounding to finish with a 9th place in Race 1, and a 5th place in Race 2, with very good race pace.

Ethan Warren too would have a strong day, especially given the limited preparation he’s able to afford at the moment, by finishing Race 1 in 8th place, and Race 2 in 18th place coughing over the line.

Brady Meyers would have a difficult Race 1, being caught out in an early race altercation that would see him put into the fence, but was able to continue to finish 28th, before surging strongly in Race 2 with a 9th place finish, holding 7th for a long time dropping a couple of places late.

Beau Albert returned to the series and Split 1 action for the first time in a while, however the return was troubled by a series of issues in both races. It was great to see him out there nonetheless.

V8 SCOPS heads to Watkins Glen for the next round of the championship in three week’s time, which always makes for interesting racing.

The World Series Sprintcars Eseries moved to Eldora Speedway for Round 2 of the series, with Tim Ryan taking a dominant flag to flag performance in Round 1 in the J&S Drilling Altus Esports Sprintcar. The lead up to this week’s round was not ideal though, having to settle for 2nd place in the race.

Tim would start in the feature on the front row, and having committed to the top side from the get go, he would fall down through the field while the low side was at its strongest early on. However the strategy would pay dividends and the fightback from 7th place was on. Tim owned the top side of the track, and was carving through the field as one by one the cars started heading for the top side. The race would end up being a dogfight with Monte Motorsport Sprintcar Team’s Joel Berkley, with each driver throwing sliders and cut backs where on the penultimate lap Berkley would slide a bit too far and go into the fence, leaving Ryno to take a memorable victory. 🥇

He now extends the lead in the championship moving into Round 3, and the season has almost been faultless thus far. With how competitive it is though, there’s no resting on our laurels when that winning feeling is so good.

The Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup kicked into action at Circuit Zandvoort for Round 1 of the 10 round series. It got off to a great start with Dayne Warren posting the 4th fastest time in Qualifying only 0.083sec off the pole position time set by defending champion Josh Rogers. For Tuomas Tähtelä it was a low key start to the season, starting P27 on the grid.

Race 1 got off to a slow start, Dayne getting a poor getaway and losing two positions in the opening sequence. Despite having a mild pace advantage over those ahead of him, he wasn’t able to make any decisive moves around the notoriously difficult circuit to pass, and would come home in P7. For Tuomas, he was caught up in a first lap crash that would claim a few other competitors, causing him to DNF race 1.

Race 2 would be the 30 minute feature race. Dayne would have a much better start, able to maintain position early. The race would be a close one inside the top 7, running nose to tail throughout a lot of the race. It was fairly calm, however late in the race he would have a slight mid corner bump in the carousel which unfortunately would turn and roll Jeff Giassi, and in the process Dayne would lose a position to Jamie Fluke. Dayne would not be able to make a solid move on Jamie despite the pace advantage however came home in a another solid 7th place. Tuomas would have a solid start, and avoid some of the early race carnage in Turn 1, before being involved in a few issues late in the race, ultimately finishing in 25th place.

We come back to do it all again next week, with Round 2 taking place in quick succession at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Let’s do this!

The Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge got off to an excellent start, with Simone Maria Marcenò taking victory in the opening round of the series. Having started P4 on the grid, he quickly made a strong clean move for P3 on Lap 2, before getting closer to the top two shadowing them in the process. Simone would go for a move on the inside of Turn 10, however differing lines would result in contact with Gibson being turned which was a disappointing outcome. Nevertheless, Simone would continue to pursue the leader, and with two laps to go would make a further lunge into Turn 11, getting a good run through out of the corner and taking the lead with a fantastic move. With a little over a lap to go, Simone would cross the line to take a memorable victory.

Antti Ahola would have a problem in qualifying, in particular with the second lap which is the fast lap, leaving him down in P26 on the grid. He was able to navigate through the Turn 1 exit melee that took a number of drivers out of the race early. He continued on to make further positions up, and ultimately finish in P12, a solid 14 position gain in the 12 lap Super Session.

Like Supercup, the series moves onto Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya next weekend, for what should be another enthralling round indeed.

We are excited to announce the arrival of the current V8 SCOPS Premier Series leader, James Scott.

James recently left his former team seeking out other options to go racing. James is not a stranger to many within the team, having been teammates before in other teams. James is very strong in the V8 but also has aspirations within the Porsche and GT categories that we race in.

We feel that James is an excellent addition to the team, both right now, and in the future. James will debut for the team in this evening’s V8 SCOPS Premier Series round at Road Atlanta. Be sure to watch out for the ASTRO Gaming Commodore, with his signature red features.

Sporting a Renault Sport Academy based livery, Oscar Piastri raced in this week’s ARG Esports Cup as a special guest for this week. Oscar got off to an excellent start from 2nd on the grid, and put together an excellent drive to take the lead early in Race 1 and was never headed.

In Race 2, it was a reverse Top 20, meaning Oscar as the Race 1 winner would need to start from 20th on the grid. He got caught up a bit early but would storm through the field to finish a magnificant P3 and get a second podium finish!
