Altus supporting Team Ireland in FIA Motorsport Games

This weekend the FIA are hosting their FIA Motorsport Games as the Olympics of Motorsport, and it’s being held in Rome. For the first time, the Digital Cup is being contested, bringing together representatives from many FIA member countries to contest in the big event, being run on Gran Turismo Sport.

Whilst we are not representing any nation in the event, we have had the pleasure of supporting and assisting the Ireland contingent for the event, being represented by Keith Dempsey. Keith has a very long history in simulated racing, and has also taken his skills to the track, however his experience is limited. Keith was brought into our Altus Academy for a rapid GT Sport boot camp run by our FIA World Tour team of Kenny Conomos, Nicholas Voon, Connor Healy and Matthew McEwen, to upskill Keith on GT Sport in a very short amount of time.

The racing is going to be exciting to watch, and Keith’s improvement and experience in the last few weeks has been great to see. We wish him all the best for this weekend’s action!

Kenny & Connor shine in AGT All Star Race

Fresh off the iRacing Petit Le Mans win, the team was on a high and wanted to keep the run going with another victory, this time in the AGT Online All Star Race on Gran Turismo Sport. Kenny Conomos wasted no time in doing so, taking pole position in the qualifying shootout and driving a masterful race to take the win by managing his fuel economy to make the no-stopper work. Connor Healy was debuting in the series, and had a great race also, crossing the line in 4th place in Race 1.

Race 2 was a reverse grid race, and with their great results from Race 1, it was going to be a tough affair. They both got off to strong starts, but then everything went off in front of them at McPhillamy Park, with the track being mostly blocked. They were able to get through, however did get held up in the process. The strategy game would come out again and on this occasion both drivers opted for an earlier stop and clear air. It would prove an excellent play, and as each driver in front of them stopped, they would move back up the order. But the race’s end, Kenny has wound up finishing the race in second place, and Connor in fifth place.

It was a fantastic performance by the Altus drivers, combining their two races to achieve the highest average of the night.

Kenny steers Jaguar to 4th at Salzburg

Our own Kenny Conomos raced in his third Gran Turismo Would Tour event of the year, this time in Salzburg, Austria at Red Bull’s Hanger 7. Again representing Jaguar in the FIA-Certified Manufacturers Series, their performances in Nurburgring and New York suggested they were on the improve, and that continued with their best result of the year, achieving 4th place overall.

The format itself had changed from earlier this year, with the further reduced to two longer races and both of which requiring driver changes and strategy calls to be made. It made for an enthralling pair of races, in particular the final race where the Jaguar team really came on song.

Congratulations to the winners Mercedes-AMG, and with Kenny now locked in for Tokyo and the World Tour Finals in Monaco later this year, they’ll be striving for a podium finish.

Kenny to race in Salzburg!

Kenny Conomos put together a masterful season in the Manufacturer Series, winning this weekend’s Top 16 Superstars race and claiming the overall championship for Oceania aboard the Jaguar! This is a landmark result for Kenny, who has been close before to claiming the title, however falling just short.

This comes at a great time however, with Kenny due to fly out to New York in a little over three weeks time to compete on the GT Sport World Tour for Jaguar, and with this victory will be racing in Salzburg a few weeks later in Mid September, a the Red Bull’s Hanger-7.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Kenny along with Nick Voon will be racing the Jaguar in the Australian GT Online Eseries starting later this month. There are some schedule clashes with the GT Sport World Tour, however we hope to compete strongly once back on Australian soil.

Kenny Qualifies for New York World Tour Event

In what has been a very strong run of form, Kenny Conomos (AE_KENOMOS) has performed as one of the top racers this season in the FIA-Certified GT Sport Manufacturer Series in his Altus Jaguar, and as such has earned an invite to another World Tour Event, this time at New York City, on August 24-25.

This comes just weeks after being confirmed as a Manufacturer Series competitor for Jaguar at Nurburgring on June 22-23, along with fellow Altus Esports driver Nicholas Voon, who will be representing Aston Martin.

For Kenny, this would be his third global event in the 10 months, having also competed in Taiwan at the Logitech G Challenge, eventually finishing as the Runner Up.

Congratulations Kenny! AE Represent!

Kenomos 3rd in Nations Cup

Kenny Conomos got our very first season as a GT Sport team off to a great start, by taking it to the very best in Oceania, with eSPORTS+CARS CAR_Bass, and the undisputed No.1 in Australia, Nik_Makozi.

Kenny performed strongly throughout the entire season, culminating in very strong showing in the final race. He also took the stunning Jaguar GT3 to the top 4, being comfortably the fastest Jaguar and narrowly missing the podium spot by just 19 points!

Nicholas Voon had a great start of the season, however we will give him a break for the reason why that didn’t continue. In mid February, Nick tied the knot with his beautiful bride which on this occasion took the priority.

For very different reasons, it was a great start to the year for our Gran Turismo duo! Congratulations to them both!
