Tuomas finishes Top 5 in FISRA Digital Rallycross Series

The Finnish Sim Racing Association assembled the very best drivers to contest the Digital Rallycross SM 2020 event, and if we know anything about Finnish drivers, they are some of the best in the world in that discipline.

Our own Tuomas Tähtelä was on hand for the event, which was also broadcast live on TV and on stream. For Tuomas who until a couple of months ago had not driven a Rallycross car, it was a big change from his Porsche Cup Car, or GT cars.

Despite being less experienced than most, including the current iRacing Rallycross World Champion, Tuomas would qualify a commendable 6th place. He’d go onto finish 3rd in his heat, 2nd in the consolation race and would start the Final in 6th place.

The final was an interesting affair, and like most in Rallycross not without drama. There were a few incidents, however Tuomas managed to avoid most, however did drop some time with a slowdown. In the end he would finish in 5th place, and a performance we are all very proud of. Maybe a tilt at the Rallycross WCS is on the cards? 🤔

Many thanks to all of the sponsors of the event, and of course FISRA for their tireless effort in this series, and others they run.

Ryan to Compete in Wicked Cushion Esports Championship

The 2018 Sprint Car World Champion Tim Ryan is back for what is set to be an amazing event from Wicked Cushion, with a online and live racers racing from the Racing Xtravaganza in York, Pennsylvania.

There’s a $4,500 prize pool set up by the organisers, and all the best Sprint Car racers have come out for it. It’ll be a great event, with the racing going live at 4AM AEDT tomorrow, and broadcasted by our friends at RaceSpot TV.

Go get em Ryno!

Josh takes maiden win at Bathurst IRL!

Right now we couldn’t be prouder. Josh Anderson has taken a break from the Porsche Esports Supercup qualifiers to contest Round 1 of the Aussie Racing Cars series, at the Bathurst 12 Hour.

In the reverse grid Race 3 of the weekend and coming off an 8th place and 2nd place finish, he would come through the field to take the lead, and then build a big margin for his first ever race win, setting the fastest lap in the process.

Absolutely stoked Ando! Looking forward to Race 4!

SimRacing for Martin #88

The 24 Hours of Daytona has concluded, however we have a special message on behalf of the team.

Martin Solari of Williams JIM Ξsports tragically lost his life after a long battle with cancer last week. All of us from within the team have known and raced against Martin for many years, and he was always a hard fought competitor, the type of competitor we like to race with and have in our community.

At the conclusion of the 24 Hours of Daytona, the entire field payed tribute to Martin, with a lap of honor. We were proud to be part of it, and say goodbye to ‘one of us’.

RIP Martin – you will be missed

Daytona Defence Denied

The 2020 edition of the iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona has concluded for another year, and whilst this time last year we were basking in glory, this year we are left licking our wounds.

Early issues would rule out our #143 GTE entry and #83 GT3 entry, with all attention moving to the #43 Logitech G BMW. Performance was strong, however our challenge was brought undone in the 14th hour, where running in 3rd place contact was made with a slightly out of control car. Whilst the contact itself didn’t seem too bad, unfortunately our steering was completely destroyed and required 15 minutes of repair.

We continued on, and spread the #Race4Relief message to all who watched the race, however in the end we would come up in 14th place, several laps down.

Whilst the end result was not what we had hoped for, the positives are the work behind the scenes within the team and the preparation that went into the event. A fantastic effort!

Perhaps the biggest positive of all, was the community support, and stories that we had heard of people donating to their chosen charity, and hearing other stories of aid being provided by those who had seen our message. We were also very humbled by all teams participating in this charity drive, and the support given by RaceSpot, iRacing and the Sim Racing community across the globe.

On behalf of all Australians, we say thank you. 🤗

Race 4 Relief Awareness

As an Australian managed team with a number of drivers from Australia also, the bushfires have been absolutely devastating to our country, with an enormous 12.35 million acres being burnt already with the devastation continuing to grow. To put this into perspective, England’s land area is 13 million hectares in size.

More than 20 lives have been lost, millions of animals have also lost their lives, thousands of homes destroyed and mass evacuations for many Australian towns often leaving people stranded with limited belongings.

The response from the public has been excellent, and the word is being spread across the world. We spoke as a team about what we could possibly do to help beyond our own donations of supplies and money, and the Australian Red Cross slogan of “The power of humanity” gave us our answer.

We decided that we would utilise racing to spread the word through Esports in next weekend’s iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona, and provide some legitimate options for viewers to donate to those affected. We are also paying tribute to those affected by running a special edition Australia-inspired Green and Gold livery on all of our cars for the race, and also stream the race in its entirety from the inner sanctum of Altus Esports. We will also be creating and sharing Race 4 Relief windshield banners for each of the 7 car types, so that others also racing in the race can spread the word and show their support.

We will have more details on the stream and banner download links in the coming days. In the meantime if you would like to donate, we recommend the following options. Any donation big or small would be greatly appreciated and help to make a difference.

Australian Red Cross: https://www.redcross.org.au

The Salvation Army: https://www.salvationarmy.org.au

WWF-Australia (Animals): https://donate.wwf.org.au/

WIRES (Animals): https://www.wires.org.au/donate/online

We look forward to you joining us, and entertaining you all next weekend in what is a big race for us, as we attempt to defend our Double Class Victory (GTE & GT3) from 2019. We will race the green and gold with pride, and hope you too can give hope to those Australians in need.

Brady Meyers joins Altus!

It was with great pleasure that we can reveal two pieces to our Supercars puzzle. 2019 Gfinity Australia Supercars ESeries No.1 Draft Pick Brady Meyers has signed with the team, and his performances this past year have been excellent in the Supercar, knocking on the door consistently and pushing the best. Brady is no stranger to many within the team having been former teammates earlier in their career, and in the short time he has been with us we have been really pleased with the chemistry within the squad.

It’s also exciting to show off our new Holden ZB Commmodore, with this our first public display of the new Altus machinery. Once again, many thanks to ILiveries for producing another superb job.

2019 is coming to a close in what has been an awesome year, and one we’ll never forget. There’s a lot to be excited about next year across Porsche Esports Supercup, Supercars Series, iRacing Endurance Racing and getting down and dirty with Ryno!

Bring on season 2020! 🤟
