ALTUS SHOWCASE LOGITECH G AT WINTON RACEWAY

Whilst the action is still going on in the background, three of our Simracers are helping showcase Logitech G G923 TRUEFORCE wheel in the Winton Raceway paddock.

It’s been incredible to see everybody’s reactions to the wheels performance as they take on a laser scanned version of Winton on Assetto Corsa. We’ve loved getting to interact with the race fans and help them learn more about the rise of Simracing, and how Logitech is committed to developing its Simracing range for years to come..

LUIS NUNEZ JOINS ALTUS!

A big welcome to Luis Núñez as our latest signing to the team who will help strengthen our Dirt-Road Lineup!

Luis has impressed at the beginning of his iRacing Career, quickly reaching 6k iRating in Rallycross with multiple World Records, whilst finishing as a close Second Place in the Iberian iRX Series against strong competition.

Luis has future goals to also challenge for the Porsche Tag Heuer Esports Supercup, and we’re looking forward to seeing him develop with the Team.

Be sure to cheer on the #12 as Luis prepares for the iRX Pro-Qualifiers next season!

With racing running around the clock in Australia, Europe and the US, sometimes it can be hard to keep track of it all. However it was an awesome week for the team, also picking up victory in the following races:

Let’s go racing!

JORDAN TAKES MAIDEN RACE & ROUND WINS!

The V8 SCOPS Premier Series moved to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for Round 2 of the series, with a fresh new update to the V8s thrown in mid-week.

With Cooper unable to return in time to race due to real world S5000 commitments, our assault was reduced to four cars with Jordan Caruso, James Scott, Sam Blacklock and Zac Hanlin taking to the track.

Jordan showed pace from the outset, leading the way in opening practice before repeating that feat in qualifying taking pole position for Race 1. His start would be thwarted by wheelspin, losing three positions off the line. He was able to move past TTR’s Hamstead for 3rd and they were both reeling in the leaders, however would have to settle for 3rd.

Race 2 would see Jordan starting 4th, however with a cleaner start would move into 3rd and sights set firmly on the leaders. The cooler conditions appeared to play into our hands, as Jordan was able to reel in the leaders, first moving into second and then passing Down at Moss. The pair would then go side by side through the final three turns before a coming together left Down wedged in the wall. Jordan was later reprieved of any wrongdoings by race control, and with eyes only looking forward was able to take a comfortable victory.

It was a difficult night for our other racers, with multiple DNFs in race 1 from early race incidents and a similar account in Race 2, although Zac Hanlin did a great job of driving through to 18th place in Race 2 from 31st on the grid.

Bring on Round 3!

PAYING TRIBUTE TO A LEGEND

Millions of motorsport fans received news of the passing of Murray Walker at 97 years of age. Words cannot describe the impact he had, bringing the thrill, excitement and his infectious passion of motorsport into the lounge rooms. He was a true gentleman, loved by those who listened, and by those he was talking about.

We wanted to pay tribute to him tonight as we mourn his loss, and to celebrate his life by going racing, albeit with a lump in our throats.

A true legend, Murray Walker (1923 – 2021)

YAN & MICHAEL DRIVE TO P2 IN SPORTS CAR OPEN

Sports Car Open moved onto the penultimate round of the championship, the 6 Hours of Spa. After a very close qualifying session, Yannick put the lone Porsche in P4, with all manufacturers represented in the Top 4.

A tense opening couple of hours saw a very close race with KOVA, Urano and the Ferrari of newcomer Energy Simsport, but by the time of our driver change at the two hour mark, Yan handed over the car to Michael in P2 with a slender 2 second lead to the chasing pack and a 20 second gap to leaders Team Redline.

The key to the race was managing the traffic periods with minimal time loss, and both Yan & Michael did an exceptional job of managing this despite a few dicey mixed class moments.

We were able to manage the second half very well to minimise our losses to the leaders, and extend our gap to the chasing pack to record a very satisfying 2nd place finish by the race’s end. We now move to 6th in the standings with 1 round to go.
