BRINGING THE OVAL TO THE MOUNTAIN

Tomorrow’s V8 SCOPS Premier Series Bathurst 1000 will see a unique Altus car on the grid, fielded by traditionally Oval racers Matt Danson from Australia and Christian Pedersen from the United States. It’s a blend of our traditional Supercar livery and the variations we make for the NASCARs we’ve come to see regularly in the ‘Altus Train’.

Watch out for the #030 Holden – they’ll be starting from 38th on the grid for the great race!

MERCH TAKES ROAD TO PRO VICTORY AT BRISTOL!

The penultimate round of the eNASCAR Road to Pro Round 2 season took place at Bristol Motor Speedway. The race got off to a poor start for Jordy Lopez, crashing heavily and retiring on just Lap 2, however being second in the standings going into the round, he was locked into the eNASCAR Contender Series already.

However that’s where the bad end, as Seth DeMerchant was peerless out front, only losing the lead on one occasion during the race to take a strong win, making it Back to Back Altus victories in eNASCAR Road to Pro.

It was a season best result for Christian Pedersen, running inside the Top 10 all race to come home in 5th place doing his qualification chances a world of good with just one round to go. It was a quieter run for Michael Cosey Jr. however yet another solid points haul in the bag has him sitting pretty ahead of the final race of the season at Phoenix.

Let’s go!

ANOTHER PODIUM TO FINISH PESC QUALIFYING SERIES

The PESC Qualifying Series is over, and it’s another P3 finish for Cooper Webster, moving up from P5 on the grid. It rounds out a fantastic series for Cooper, who by our calculations finished P2 in the standings.

It was heartbreak once again with a horrible netcode taking Jordan Caruso out of the action at Turn 1 and on for a nervous wait for Contender Qualification. We think he is inside the Top 15, but we’ll wait the official numbers before we get too excited!

ENASCAR ROAD TO PRO 1-2 AT TEXAS!

What a result!

Jordy Lopez Jr has been knocking on the door of a victory for the last few races and managed to get it done, taking our first victory of the eNASCAR Road to Pro Qualifying Series with Seth DeMerchant following him home in 2nd place.

This result locks Jordy in for the Road to Pro Contender Series, and he now sits 2nd in the standings. For Merch, P2 secures his best finish of the season and moves him within striking distance of locking himself in for the Contender Series.

It was a more difficult night for CP and Cosey, battling in the mid pack and bringing home a solid result giving their qualification aspirations little harm with two rounds to go.

Confidence is on a high and we can’t wait to get to Bristol! Let’s go!

Sporting a special livery to honour TLC for Kids as the charity of our choice, we raced in the Sim Seats Real Sim Racing Cup Series Finale for the chance to win the charity purse of $750 USD.

The Altus train was running fast, with Michael Cosey Jr leading the way with Seth Demerchant and Matt Danson close behind, and Merch sealed the deal crossing the line ahead of Cosey and Danson to secure a fantastic victory for the team, but more important raise funds for a fantastic cause.

BACK TO BACK ALTUS ENDURANCE CUP VICTORIES!

The second race of the V8 SCOPS Premier Series Endurance Cup would take place at the traditional Phillip Island circuit. Having taken victory at the first race in the hands of James Scott and Sam Blacklock, they looked strong once again taking a second successive pole position.

Blacklock had a tremendous launch and began the race strongly, however teammate Cooper Webster made up the ground and was able to make the pass mid way through the opening stint to take the lead for the first time. Simon Feigl too had made a move up to P7 however had an awkward tangle to drop off the circuit at Siberia losing valuable time.

Altus & V8 SCOPS debutant Ryan Wood took over the #83 from Feigl during the second safety car phase, however now sitting in P31 had lots of work to be done. The Scott/Blacklock car was tagged and turned around at Honda, dropping them to the back and with a damaged #088. They would struggle to recover and come home in P14.

With Webster and Jordan Caruso in the effective lead on fuel strategy, there was a breath taking battle with Synergy Sim Racing‘s Jackson Souslin Harlow and Caruso, with JSH able to hold onto the lead for the time being before Caruso undercut the #143 to break free to clear air. Caruso would lead home a first ever Endurance Cup victory for Webster and Caruso.

It was a similar story with Wood, who did two undercutting pit stops in a row relative to their competitors to vault up the order to P5 with the final stint to go, and were able to pass on the track the TTR and United SSR cars to sit in the podium place before managing a fuel deficit to bring the #83 home in third place.

It was a tough race for Hanlin and Danson in the end, however Danson accumulated valuable V8 miles ahead of the great race next up!

Overall it was an excellent race for the team, with a double podium finish for the second successive race, and a starring display from debutant Ryan Wood to take a podium in his first V8 SCOPS race.

Next up… the Bathurst 1000 in a few weeks!

PORSCHE P3 FOR COOPER & A CARUSO RECOVERY

Porsche Esports Supercup Qualifying Series entered its penultimate round, this time at Long Beach. It was always going to be a tricky one with the walls being close and every chance of it going horribly wrong.

Cooper did an excellent job escaping much of the opening action, with Jordan starting a bit further back but also having a smooth run through Lap 1. However whilst things then stablised for Cooper, Jordan’s race was going to get tougher. He was a victim of a competitor’s attempt into Turn 1 which put them both in the wall, however fortunately he was able to rejoin and come back through to a P12 finish. Jordan now sits P9 in the series standings.

Cooper had the blowtorch on the R8G car, whilst fending an Apex car behind, however on this notoriously difficult track to pass, P3 was solid points and would put him P3 in the qualifying championship with one round to go.

Only the Top 15 go through to the Contender series, and so far so good! Let’s bring it home at Nürburgring this weekend!

ALBERT GETS A THIRD PODIUM IN IRX SEASON FINALE!

For the seventh and final time, the Rallycross World Championship Qualifier Series hit the track, and the Altus Subaru’s hit the ground running with a double Top-5 in Qualifying.

Third and Fourth in the Heat Races would put both drivers in the Consolation race, but they dealt with it perfectly with Beau leading home a dominant Altus 1-2.

An aggressive Feature would force both drivers to get their elbows out, with Luis sliding up into Third early on until a costly error sent him rolling out of contention. Fortunately, Albert was able to recover from a bruising opening lap to drive through the field and collect a fourth podium for the team in seven events.

Beau would round out the season Sixth in points, whilst Luis Nunez would finish Fourteenth but crucially, both well ahead of the cut-off to the World Championship.

Round 1 of the World Championship takes place at the Daytona International Speedway!
