Cooper Wins Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Round 3!
Cooper Webster got his debut performance for Altus Esports off to the best possible start, claiming victory in the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge and taking his series winnings to $900 USD. 💰
He got off to a fantastic start by claiming 2nd position in qualifying, however with the pole sitter unable to take to the grid he found himself leading the way into turn 1, and was able to control the race from the front for a flag to flag victory.
Elsewhere, Antti Ahola showed excellent late race pace to finish fourth and is piecing together an excellent championship tilt with consistent finishes from the first four rounds despite less than ideal qualifying positions.
Simone Maria Marcenò didn’t quite match his earlier qualifying performances and found himself in 5th early, however side to side contact would cause both he and his competitor to spin out of contention on lap 5, but able to finish down in the order. Yannick too found a tough time, without a representative lap time and starting at the back of the back, was caught up in an incident and finished a few laps behind the leaders.
Cooper now moves to 2nd in the championship after three rounds, having missed the opening round at Zandvoort which is a fantastic performance in just two races. The series takes a break until racing at Le Mans in mid June.
