Yannick wins French Cup 2020!
The Coupe de France 2020 took place this year in the Dallara F3, amid a massive field of more than 230 participants. The race format requires a high level of consistency and raw pace to be able to make your way into the final, and Yan showed guile and reserve throughout the event to show why he is one of the very best drivers in France.
Having won the title in 2018 and finishing close behind in 2019, he was looking to return to the top and gave himself an almost perfect start by putting the Altus F3 on the front row. Yan got away to a fantastic getaway in the long run up to Turn 1 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, eventually opting for the outside line through Turn 1 enabling him to take the inside line into Turn 2. A great opening lap tussle with Tomas Petitjean would see Yan come out on top, with Tomas having to defend P2 losing valuable time in the early laps. This allowed Yan all the margin he needed to put together an excellent and consistently fast race to take the victory ahead of Petitjean who showed his class to finish close behind in P2.
Congratulations Yan you beast! 👏👏👏
